Founded in 1976 and named after the legendary freedom fighter pandit Gopabandhu Das, Utkalmani Gopabandhu smruti Mahavidyaraya is located in sakhigopal, the epicentre of the odia Nationalist Movement in the earry 2.th century set up in a sylvan surrounding, with river Ratnachira serenely flowing by it, the institution offers an ideal ecology for the pursuance of serious academic goals.During its four and half decade,s journey it has nurtured the budding talents of hundreds of needy and meritorious youth coming from the remote rurar areas.

Admission to the college begins after the publication of the results of the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha and CHSE, Odisha. Admission to Higher Secondary classes is conducted through Students Academic Management System (SAMS) under e-admission process. As per the provision of SAMS, candidates are supposed to apply on line in Common Application Form (CAF) which will be available in website www.dheodisha.gov.in

| Examination |
 1. Before a student is admitted to the college he /she and his/ her guardian has to sign an undertaking to the effect that he /she will abide by the rules of the college. He would have minimum75% attendance in classes to be eligible to appear any examination.
